The Resource

Water is the lifeblood of Utah. Utah is the second driest state in the nation. The state’s precipitation varies from 5 to 60 inches with a statewide annual average of only 13 inches, and Southern Utah areas receive less than five inches annually.

Consequently, farms, cities, towns and industries in Utah rely on the efficient use of reservoirs and water distribution systems to meet their water needs.
